Trooper Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on GA-400 Near Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs

Sandy Springs, Georgia (July 07, 2026) – A Georgia State Patrol trooper was involved in a three-vehicle crash that blocked several northbound lanes of GA-400 on Monday afternoon in Sandy Springs.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the collision occurred shortly before 3:45 p.m. on the northbound side of GA-400 near Abernathy Road. Authorities said a trooper was traveling north when traffic came to a sudden stop.
Investigators said the trooper was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of a vehicle. The impact caused that vehicle to rear-end a third vehicle, resulting in a three-car collision.
No information regarding injuries or possible citations was immediately released. The crash blocked several lanes of the highway as emergency crews responded to the scene.
