One Killed, One Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-85 Near Atlanta Airport in College Park

Atlanta, Georgia (June 23, 2026) – One person was killed and another was injured after being struck by a vehicle on I-85 northbound in College Park, according to the College Park Police Department.

The crash occurred near Virginia Avenue and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Authorities said officers responded to the scene around 3 p.m. and discovered two individuals who had been hit by a vehicle. Georgia State Patrol (GSP) later confirmed that both victims were landscape workers.

Investigators reported that the workers were in a grassy area near the ramps to North Inner Loop Road when a Chevrolet Malibu left the roadway, struck the two men, and then fled the scene. One victim was pronounced dead, while the second sustained injuries and was transported for medical treatment. Officials have not yet released the identities of those involved.

Law enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate the hit-and-run and are working to locate the driver responsible for the crash.
