5 Injured After Police Chase Ends in Crash With MARTA Bus in Northwest Atlanta

Atlanta, Georgia (July 06, 2026) – Several people were injured Tuesday afternoon after a police pursuit ended in a crash involving a MARTA bus in northwest Atlanta.

According to MARTA officials, the collision occurred at approximately 3:58 p.m. at the intersection of Hightower Road and Etheridge Drive. Authorities said the crash happened after a police pursuit ended at the intersection, resulting in a collision with a MARTA bus.

MARTA reported that 10 people were on board the bus at the time of the crash. Five individuals, including the bus operator, sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The remaining passengers were transferred to another MARTA bus and continued to their destination.

Authorities have not released the identity or condition of the suspect involved in the police pursuit.

MARTA confirmed that the damaged bus will be towed from the scene as officials continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
